As much as the work we deliver is outcome focused and promotes strengths-based practice, we also incorporate relationship based practice as we believe that this is the best way to bring effective and positive change to people’s lives.
We aim to match our clients with their own staff team who will provide regular care and support on a weekly basis, instead of having different faces at each support visit. Therefore, we require people who are reliable and are dedicated to this way of working to ensure that they build a positive rapport and trust with our service users and their families. The working patterns are normally the same each week as you can be supporting a client for 4 - 6 hours each day of the week, dependant on your assigned service user and availability.
Our office team is very friendly, approachable and supportive. We promote an open culture and are always available at the other end of the phone. We offer a thorough induction programme which includes completion of mandatory e-learning and face to face training, shadowing more experienced staff before being assigned any work.
JOB DESCRIPTION
· To provide the highest quality care to service users in their own homes in accordance with their support plan, in a person-centred approach
· The range of tasks that the support worker may be required to undertake covers domestic/practical tasks and enabling and support work.
· Social duties include preparing and cooking meals, essential cleaning, shopping, bills payment and fire maintenance.
· Enabling and support may include such activities as supervising, monitoring and coaching to empower service users to be as independent as possible and have control over their own lives. Support workers may also be required to escort or accompany service users to outings, appointments or other events.
· To be aware of the personal needs and requirements of service users, communicating successfully, not only with your service user but with their family, friends and other health care professionals.
· Ensure that all care is completed within TLS social Care’s policies and procedures, CQC fundamental standards and all contractual and legislative requirements.
· Maintain appropriate records to meet the needs of the service, observing and promptly reporting back any changes or concerns in your service user’s circumstances or condition.
· Contribute to and work effectively as part of a team.
· Deliver support in a manner which is sensitive to the service user’s culture, disability, race, age, sexuality, marital or civil partnership status or religious believes.
· Engage and work closely with unpaid carers such as family or friends for the benefit of the service user.
· Promote anti-discriminatory practice
· Protect the confidentiality of service users and of TLS Social Care.
· Promote the dignity and privacy of service users.
· Act promptly and appropriately to protect service users from neglect or abuse
· Participate in staff development (including supervision), training and performance appraisals as required.
· At all times, present a professional and caring image of TLS Social Care and demonstrate behaviours reflective of TLS Social Care values.
· Any other duties as delegated by line manager.

Pay Rates:
Community Outreach Support Workers - £11.44 an hour
Home Care assistants - £12 an hour
Holiday entitlement: 20 days plus 8 days statutory holidays (28 Days)
Experience preferred but not essential and full training and induction programme to Care Certificate Standards given
