Individuals with physical disabilities experience very different lives as there are various types of physical disabilities. Some physical disabilities are develop overtime, whereas others are present since birth and they also have different severities. It can involve difficulties with walking and mobility, sitting and standing, use of your hands and arms, sight, hearing, speech, breathing, bladder control, muscle control, sleeping, fits and seizures or chronic tiredness. Some individuals with physical disabilities need little support with their mobility whilst others may need more specialist equipment and adaptations to their everyday life.
Whilst a physical disability may be obvious, such as loss of a limb, some can be less obvious, for example, epilepsy, vision and hearing loss. Having physical disabilities can also affect other parts of an individual’s health and well-being, such as their mental health.
