Befriending takes different forms, such as speaking over the telephone, home visits and support groups. As well as improving the emotional wellbeing of your elderly relative, befriending can bring peace of mind for you, knowing that someone is checking in and offering companionship.
Getting older can be lonely. Most times, circumstances may have changed and your elderly relative may be particularly vulnerable after a partner or close friend has passed away, or family have moved to another area.
This is a free service which is available to all elderly people who use our services and may feel lonely in between their care visits. We can arrange a suitable time on a weekly basis for you to have a chat with our expert carers to give you comfort and avoid the feeling of loneliness.
